Riverdale: Season One: Chapter Eight: The Outsiders: this episode has everything. A baby shower! Child labor(?)! Dilves! Confusing reproductive politics! Val (for one second)! As usual, we spend a longer time thinking about Kevin's interiority than any of the writers of this show ever have. Then we find out which Riverdale character is our soulmate. I tell you, these quizzes are disrespectful sometimes. >:(

This week is Chapter Seven: In a Lonely Place. We discuss what season it is in Riverdale (coats, but also mosquitos?), the sudden appearance of nightclub The Roving Eye, and how Jughead and Archie's dads are Two Guys Who Have A Weird Gay Thing. Some stuff also happens with the mystery this show is about, I guess. Then we talk about Cole Sprouse playing Elden Ring for like five minutes. Middle school me is swooning at Cody from Suite Life talking about video game minutiae, let me tell you.

Today's episode is Chapter 6: Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill! Betty and Jughead continue to investigate a murder, but what's more important is that Archie just HAS to get into the talent show. Hey, what is Riverdale trying to say about race and gender with the Pussycats??? Lots of things, none of them very coherent. We also get introduced to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, local cult multipurpose room. You can do whatEVER freak shit you want in there. The episode ends with our first sick Riverdale musical moment, before we go to our last segment: exploring a rival Riverdale'd Peanuts pitch.

You thought there wouldn't be an episode today, but this was an elaborate prank. You CAN actually listen to us talk about Chapter Five: Heart of Darkness! We discuss some iconic funeral outfits, some unrealistic career expectations for teens, and whether or not Cheryl and Veronica want to become girl best friends. Alix also takes Han on a journey into the lesbian Jughead controversy of 2017/2018, which is not a joke and is actually a real thing that happened in the fandom.
